  I have a requirement to migrate on-prem SQL 2014 database instance to Azure VM (SQL 2016). Anyone can provide guidance on how to perform a smooth migration. It would be much helpful if you can provide detailed steps for this migration like copying backups to Azure VM to restore and general best practices to follow for this scenario.
