Got new hardware, and need to migrate two instances, one default and one named, of MS SQL 2000 over to the new box.
The new box will have the same machine name and the same IP once all is complete as did the old box.
What is my best strategy for moving two instances - including all users, databases, permissions - the whole ball of wax - over?
With different options, what are the issues and gotchas I might expect and watch for?
Thanks -

I've used this article as a guide for migrating to new hardware. Pay particular attention to the section on moving logins.

And if you want to be able to bring the new SQL Server with the old SQL Server name, here is the link too(ofcourse you need to rename the physical server)
