Hi I want to migrate SQL Server 2000 Maintenance plans in SQL 2008R2... I didnt found how to script them.... please share your thoughts...

You have to export them through SSIS and the import on your target server(s)

Markus, having done so would they work on the new server? Are not the maintenance plans heavily tied to the server they were created on?

I just noticed that the OP wants to migrate maintenance plans from SQL 2000 to 2008. So SSIS isn't an option after all.
But in case you want to try between 2005 or 2008 servers it will work.
Of course you have to change the datasource to your new server and you may need to change the paths for your backups and logfiles but other than that it will work.
Is it worth the effort? I think that depends. Personally I'm not a big fan of (standard) maintenance plans any way, so for me I'd rather write/google some nice flexible maintenance procedures and schedule them with SQLAgent.

I'm not a fan of trying to migrate maintenance plans either.

suppose You have a large environment...and no of maintenance plans...in that case this option is not feasible.... Am I wrong???

it's not clear to me which option you're talking about.
Anyway, you cannot script a SQL 2000 maintenance plan and migrate it to SQL 2008.
