I see a book called "Microsoft SQL Server 2000(TM) Performance Tuning Technical Reference", which book would be a best match for SQL 2005? I see a number of books that may cross over but wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what they are using.
Thanks

I haven't invested in any 2005-specific books yet (other than some administrative ones). For performance tuning, I've been spending quality time with Microsoft's whitepapers. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/tsprfprb.mspx

There's a lot of info in that book that is related to tuning hardware and windows server monitoring, which is valid info regardless of the version of SQL Server. Because it's for SQL 2000, some places are selling it cheap, making it a great investment. I got mine for less than $20USD and it's well worth it.
It was written before 64-bit systems were available, so all of the info in the processor chapter is 32-bit only, but the RAID and sizing chapters hold true regardless.
