Hi All,
When i try to access the data from Entrerprise manager by right clicking on the table and clicking on return all rows,i get this error.
But when i try to access the data from sql query analyser its working fine.
Kindly let me know on this as this is very urgent

Suresh,
Sounds to me like your MDAC 2.8 file got corrupted. Here is how this gets fixed:
go to regedit and delete the following entry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ExceptionComponents
and reinstalling MDAC 2.8. - can be downloaded from microsoft website.

I would like to let you know one more thing that i had not mentioned in my previous posting.This problem had occured after restoring the backup database.Can i proceed in the same fashion that have you have mentioned.Kindly let me know on this

Glad you mentioned this, it might be the backup db compatibility might be set to 60. Here is the article about this:

Hi Jules,
Thanks a lot for being so kind in responding.But still i am yet proceed the way you have told me as its a live database and i need to be extremely careful before doing anything.
I just would like to know one last thing,if the mdac file gets corrupted will all the databases present on the server face the same issues.As of now there are 8 databases on my server and only one database is giving me such an problem.
Kindly let me know on this

Hi,
I have that problem before. what i did, i make a maintenance plan for the said database, i run it on schedule. and it fixed the problem. On the maintenance i configure the data optimization and data integrity. I hope it would help.
