Hello Admins,
I see Microsoft releases ODBC drivers very often. Is it part of DBA responsibility to get this driver up to date on machines where SQL Installed?
I just want to know how often or when to update drivers? Is this a best practice to keep drivers up to date on system.

Thanks,
Ven

ODBC is used to connect and talk to database server. I generally consider it the call of DB client side. Personally, I never upgraded it in MSSQL Server, and seldom heard someone do that. Even on DB client side, something needs to be think about,
1. Do we really use ODBC?
2. If the current driver works well, why do we need to upgrade it?
