Hi
Has anybody got any experience of hosting Dynamics AX and Sharepoint databases on the same SQL instance?
In my experience Dynamics makes extensive use of tempdb as it is recommended to set the database to READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON. I don't have much knowledge of how extensively Sharepoint uses tempdb, but my concern is that tempdb will struggle to cope with both.
Does anybody have any experience of this, any details of how Sharepoint uses tempdb or know of any recommendations that might be useful?
Many thanks

its depend on hardware and available resources for the Instance, you can do this but tempdb must be enough because READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOP_ON use the tempdb because row-versioning is going on ,you should do stress test first in the test enviroment for both databases on the same Instance
Team foundation server also use this feature, you can disable this feature on the database level because what I founded in this feature database curruption ratio increases
