  Is there a way to determine what SQL Server thinks is the default database backup location, and get that location into a local variable in a T-SQL Script?

  Its a registry key, HKLM\Software\Microsoft SQL Server\instance\MSSQLServer, key is BackupDirectory. Should be able to get it from there.
