I remembered reading one of Steve's article. When you interview a person, not only the person has the right skill set, it is also important that if that person fits into the group and the company. I remembered the article said if that person has all the skill set but for some reason you do not like that person, do you still hire that person?

Generally not. That's why I make such a big point in my blog about appearance and social skills. The person has to fit into the company culture.

We just had someone submit a resume, and include among his history of qualifications: TRS-80 programming!!!

Hey, I've programmed a TRS-80.
Ah those fond memories of sticking in two 5 1/4" disks, one with the program, one with the compiler, watching the C or PASCAL program flow by as it was checked and compiled...
I learned recursion, pointers, and solved the Tower of Hanoi on a TRS-80. It holds a special place in my heart. Today it'd be a nice useful doorstop and memory holder.
