mdt3g.dll -- SP4 Installation problem

    Hi,

    When I try to apply SP4, I am getting the following message.

    "The specified file cannot be opened as write. Ensure the file is not in use and restart setup."

    "File: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSDesigners98\mdt3g.dll"

    So I closed all applications that were running and tried again to run setup without any success. I also tried restarting the machine and run setup, but I am still getting this error message.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I would check and see that the file is not set to read only

    Before I posted the message, I checked for the folder properties and all the files & subfolders in that folder are marked for "Read Only".

    I logged in as local admin and tried to change the folder properties, but strangly I couldn't change the properties

    So I renamed the folder and the process went further, now stopping at "Database Replication\Conflict Viewer\wzcnf.dll" file, giving me similar error message.
