  • Hi Team,

MDS I have installed in my PC while accessing home page its redirecting to unauthorised.aspx.

OS: Windows server 2008 Enterprise Edition 64 bit

db: SQL server 2008 R2 Developer Edition

I have not created any domain and used built in Administrator user to install all this components.

    FYI...

MDS installation created Master data services folder in the default location (sql server folder) but not in inetput/wwwroot folder. Is that creating the problem?

6060 used as a MDS Webapplication port..

Please feel free to ask if you need further information.

    Thanks for your help...!!!

  • so many acronyms on the internet...no way for me to know or infer what MDS was...

ok, i googled a little bit for you here:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=Master+data+services+unauthorised.aspx

and i found this information at microsoft:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff487039.aspx#unauthorized

    HTTP 401.2-Unauthorized

When you try to access Master Data Manager, you might encounter an HTTP 401.2-Unauthorized error. This can occur for the following reasons:

Windows Authentication is not configured on the Web server computer. For more information, see Web Application Requirements (Master Data Services).

Windows Authentication is not enabled for the Master Data Manager Web application in Internet Information Services (IIS).

For more information, see Error message when you try to visit a Web page that is hosted on IIS 7.0: "HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized" on the Microsoft Support Web site.

I also found this post that had a step by step recommended way to install that also might help:
