Just curoisu if anyone had any thoughst about what to do with old mdmp files. I'm doing some clean up work on the drive and we have a couple hundread mega bytes wirth of old (like 1 02 years old) mini-dump files. I don;t think there's any reaosn to hold onto these but I'd like to get a second, third & more opinion on that.
Any commenst welcome!

Delete them
.mdmp file are memory dumps, from when SQL has access violations or other similar errors. If you're getting them currently, call MS's customer support. If they're old and the problems aren't still occurring, there's no reason to keep the files around.

Thanks Gail for replying. I had a feeling this was the case but wanted to hear someone else say the same first.

Hi, after I remove the files two days ago, the SQL Engine recreateds mdmp files those errors are from 7/10 and backwards.
I opened file yes there were some memory dumps but the instance is working as expected, do you experience something like this?
Any idea on how to overcome this?
