Hi Pradeep,
If you have installed SQL Server 2000 on a new machine and would like to have the databases in running condition.
Solution:
If you are having .MDF files for all the databases, then go to Enterprise Manager and click on
<Server Name> ->Right Click on Databases -> Choose Attach Database
Now you will be able to see a small window popped up asking for the respective .MDF file to be attached. Click on ellipses (...) and choose the path where the respective .MDF file(s) have been placed and select first file and click on verify buton.
Only .MDF file(s)
You will be able to see a tick mark next to the .MDF file which was verified and a .LDF file with a cross (x) mark.
Both .MDF and .LDF file(s)
You will be able to see tick marks next to the .MDF file and the .LDF file.
Specify a name to the database by which you want to know it. Also specify the database owner. Now click on ok and you will be able to see the database attached and it is online in working condition.
If you want any further clarification, you can get back.
