.mdf / .bak / .ldf

  • .ldf is a log file its not a transaction log backup,it will be created automatically when the database is created.

    .mdf is a primary data file it will b created automatically when the database is created, there is also .ndf its a secondary data file

    .bak is a backup file when u take a backup the backup file will be create with the file extension of .bak
