Hi,
I'm updating MDac on clients from 2.0 to 2.8, do I also need to install it on the SQL server? (7.0 + latest s/p)
Does SQL server use any of the MDac/OLE DB DLL's in 2.8?
Yes I know ADO 2.0 is really old (no excuses) ... but been having some trouble with the server creating locks that chew up resources, crash enterprise manager
Do you this this bug in ADO version before 2.5 would cause this?

many thanks,
Martin

I'll follow the microsoft recoemmendations - but I'd suggest a mdac update on the server to be worthwhile - miss matched mdac versions across clients always used to give me grief - I'd suggest you go with 2.8 + sp1 I think too.

Yes. Apply the same MDAC to the server with SQL Server.
