Adam,
Haven't taken it, but pass percentages seem to be about 850 or so and the # of questions is usually 52. I took the 444 exam and it was standard 52 multiple choice questions. The 441 and 443 exams were case studies, 4-5, each with 7-11 questions, totaling around 50.
I'm planning on taking the 431 soon and I'm guessing it will be one of those two formats. Duration is usually 150 minutes.

I took it 2 weeks ago and failed. It was 35 multiple choice (got all of those right) and 15 simulation. That simulation was tough and you have know SSMS pretty well.

I am using the self paced training kit. Have you used it? Does that give you any exposure to the kinds of things the simulations require?

Took it again and passed with a 700. Right under the wire, but nonetheless, a pass! Be ready for the simulations, they are what get you. Not to mention, if you do the simulation somewhat, but not all the way correct, you still have a chance of getting the answer right...

I finally took it and it was 30-some multiple choice, all different areas in SS2K5. The simulations are various tasks. Like you need to add a login, set the default db, add to a role, etc. That's not a question, but things like that and you have a semi-functional SSMS that you work with to click around and perform the task.
It's hard. Of the 4 I took, I thought this was the hardest.
