can anyone tell me if this would be the best route towards acquiring a position (ENTRY LEVEL BI analyst) position.

That exam does not cover an BI material as I recall.
This exam is required before you can take the MCITP Test for BI.
There is a lot more than taking the exam to getting a Job. In my opinion you need practical experience.

Well i beg to differ, make sure of what kind of course you want to do BI, then well yes go for it. Read the book take the exam.
This will make sure that you know the concept. now prepare your cv as you have a upper hand that micorsoft certified that you know bits and pieces of the framework.
your cv will cary waight as agents skimming through will look for qualifications.
once done then its a footing in to the interview, but here you should be looking for some junior role and then get some experience.

Well thank you for your input. 🙂
The exam 70-432 is the Implementation & Maintenance Exam.
I was wrong, this Exam does not help you get certified as a MCTS or MCITP for SQL Server 2008.
I took the SQL Server 2005 variation of the exam and then the upgrade from MCDBA.
MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer 2008 requires the following:
Exam 70-448
Exam 70-452
When you pass Exam 70-448 Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): SQL Server 2008, you complete the requirements for the following certification:
Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance
For a SQL Server 2005 Certification it was necessary to take Implementation & Maintenance Exam.
That is no longer required for the SQL Server 2008 MCITP: BI Certification.
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcitp.aspx#tab2
In my opinion the topics covered in 70-432 are very important and should be understood and I would recommend taking the exam despite the fact that it does not count towards the MCTS BI Certification.

WC

Thanks, I'll proceed with obtaining this cert and look to obtain an entry-level position, in the field with the company i work for.

As already stated, Exam 70-448 (Sql Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance) is more directly applicable to BI. If I was only doing one Cert and was interested in a BI job, this is the one I would do. I plan to do training for all three Sql Server 2008 MCTS Exams: 70-432, 70-433 & 70-448.
