I am thinking of studying for my MCDBA, as I am now finding that my CV is often rejected because I do not have any MS certifications! My dilemma is that this cerification is SQL2000 based and I wonder just how long it will be before 2005 certification becomes available. Is it worth me doing the existing certification or should I wait?

Back here on planet earth all SQL Server 2005 should be out now because the last BI exam comes out February, 2007.

Do people really pay attention to certifications when they are hiring?
I never give certifications any consideration when I am looking at candidates resumes.

That’s not a convincing argument.
Being unable to think of an alternative explanation is not proof of the explanation you can think of.
