MCDBA

  • I want to do MCDBA. I have been working on SQL Server for some time now. Can some one guide me on where to start and what to look for.

    Thanks

  • You're best bet is to look on the Microsoft Website. This details the classes you should ideally take in order to obtain your MCDBA. Once you have an idea of the courses you need, you should then look around your local area for training centers.

This link should get you going...

  • Also, instead of the Administration forum, scroll down and check out the Certification forum.

  • Might wanna try http://www.TestKing.com.

They have a good study guide.

Good luck. I'm preparing to take mi exams in August.

  • Thanks for your help every one. and good luck to you, garutyunyan, as well.

  • Pro/Gar,

You may also want to check http://www.brainbench.com. They have some decent materials but will charge.

I am currently studying as well and am using Microsoft Press books and CBT's to prepare.

I am also looking into possibly taking some fast track classes in case I feel like I need the push. Expensive but may be worth it.

    Good Luck!

  • go to http://www.mcsebraindumps.com. you will get the question and answer for all the paper

  • Now, now that is something I wouldn't do if I were you! Doing that subtracts from the value of the exam as well as your sense of personal achievement. Just a friendly advice---stay away from the so called brain dumps!

  • Good DBAs should be able to pass the exams without using the "brain dumps" or "test king" documents. However, both of the above do save time. Will they help you look after the server though?

  • Thats true, but as far as I know, I couldnt see any decent documentation on what to study, to prepare for the exam. Lots of people have told me that Microsoft Books are good for reference but not good enough to pass the exams.

I went to the Microsoft website and in training details they dont even say what kind of subjects should we look for, instead the link takes you to the MCT Institutes website list, which not every one can afford. Thats why I asked this question here as to what should I look to prepare, so finally I bought a book and started studying. Lets hope the book is good enough

Thanks for the advice though and any good books in mind..?

  • A great book for the exam is Robert Vieira's Sql Server 2000 Programming from Wrox, if you can get your hands on it. Goes through all that you will need for the exams, plus lots more. As far as exam syllabus is concerned, check out the following:

    and

There is much talk about the MS Press books. They do have a lot of information, but it can be like extracting the proverbial blood.
