Maximum size of a database that SQL Server 2005 clustered allows

    Hi all,

    I don't know if this is the right board to post this thread or not.

    I know SQL 2005 allows up to the following size maximum for a database size, do you know or know if this is true for clustered environment as well? If not, do you know of a KB that gives the information for SQL server in a clustered environment?

    Database size(32 bit) 524,258 terabytes(64 Bit) 524,258 terabytes

    I don't think there is any difference in the limits between clustered and non-clustered, but seriously are you getting anywhere close to 524,258 terabytes to start worrying about it????

    Quite frankly no, I had the following KBs that I always used for these occasions, however since they (management) brought up CLUSTERED for probably future data architecture optimization, i want to give them a definite answer. Most of cluster discussions online are usually regarding hardware ultimum size rather than datable allowed size.

    That's correct, you are more likely to hit hardware limitations than DB size limitations (for both clustered and non-clustered)....
