Hello DBA's,
I have a strange thing here...
When I try to change the number of errorlogs in SQL-Server 2012, by rightmouse click on SQL Server Error Logs and then Properties:
When we script this change, I will get:
The strange thing is, that this path in the registry does not exist? The only location where I can find the NumErrorLogs is in: Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.ACC_01\MSSQLServer.
How does this work?
I thought that it was maybe this server alone, but I have tried a new install on a test-server but I am having the same result...
Hopefully someone can help me out here!
Best regards,
Mischa

I'm afraid I can't see your screenshots. Does the script include xp_instance_regwrite, by any chance? That doesn't show an absolute path, but rather one relative to the hive for the SQL Server instance you're working on. That may be what's confusing you.

The path you are showing is correct - the registry entry is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\<Instance>\MSSQLServer
But as John said, your screenshots don't show. Usually you right click on SQL Server Error Logs and select configure. I don't have a properties selection when I right click on the Error Logs. So it's hard to tell exactly what you are doing from your description and without the screenshots.
