MAPI Compliant email Server

    I was just wondering if any one knew any good, but fairly inexpensive MAPI compliant email server. Exchange is out of the question, but I would really like to start using SQL Server to it full potiential for notifcation of Alerts.

    It's a MAPI-compliant client that you'll be needed. Basically Outlook will do (though Outlook 2000 is required for SQL Server 2000). Outlook can connect with a POP3 server, and there are some low cost ones available. Here's the Microsoft Q article on setting up SQL Mail:

    Thanks for the help. I am fairly weak in knowledge when it comes to email.
