  • Here are a couple of options for you to look at if you have not already come across these yet:

SQL Server 2008 White Paper: Analysis Services Performance Guide

    Brief Description

This white paper describes how application developers can apply query and processing performance-tuning techniques to their SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services OLAP solutions.

You would also want to be monitoring your SQL Agent tasks and/or SSIS tasks that you have setup to do the Processing.

  • But this does not tell me what all may be the daily activities i should do with the analysis service instances...

  • I guess the items I provided are more related to performance and optimization. Something that is very important and should be looked at and the second one offers a great solution for you to monitor the usage and performance in a automated fashion.

For the daily tasks I would say you would want to look at the following items:

    1) Backups

    2) Processing

    3) Available hard drive space

    4) Available memory on server

    5) CPU utilization on the server
