I have a SQL 2005 SP1 installed on Win2003 SP1. Used Mgt. Studio on the server via NT Authentication and created maintenance plans for db backups and the like. Then, I installed the Mgt. Studio tools on my XP PC. I went into that server (from my PC) via SQL Server authentication to edit the db backup and it is all greyed out. I placed a call to Microsoft and the answer is that if you create it via NT Authentication you must open it with NT authentication. I asked why 'sa' (the god like ID for SQL Server) cannot open it up and he stated that it was a new permissions thing in SQL Server 2005. His answer was to delete all maint. plans in SQL 2005 and recreate them with the 'sa' ID and I would then be able to edit them on my PC. I just think that it nuts.
Has anyone else come across this issue ?

Did you try to connect from the same Management Studio just registering the server twice, once with Integrated Windows and one with SQL Server Standard authentication? I usually create a client network utility alias to be able to register the same server twice with different credentials. I wonder if it will open on the SAME machine with different authentication.
