Hi all,
I have just inherited about 60-70 SQL servers (7, 2000 & 2005) that need to be managed. Does anyone have any great ideas as how to best manage them.
At this stage, all I I want to keep track of is:
- DB & log sizes (used space vs space allocated)
- available disk space
- backups / maintenance plan
- audit of job outcomes
I need to know when backups fail and when disks are becoming full.
I could go away and script these out, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any great software that is "agentless" that will handle these for me to make this a much quicker process and of course a gui would be an advantage.
Any ideas much appreciated.
Thanks,

Here's some notes. A little dated, but they should work for 2000.

The company I work for, SQL Farms, has a product that does just that. It allows you to access all your databases and servers in an agent-less technology easily from your computer console.
