I created a maintenance plan several days ago which backs up the transaction logs of all user databases at midday. The plan consists of a backup Database task, Notify Operator task & Maintenance Cleanup task. If the backup database task fails a notify operator task sends an email to me and a colleague.
Ever since the plan was created we get an email saying the backup database task has failed but upon further investigation the SQL Server & SQL Agent Logs, View History on both Maintenance Plans & SQL Agent Jobs reveal the plan completed successfully!?
Any ideas?
We are using one named instance under SQL 2005 Standard Edition Server Build 3054.

It's alright panic over!
When I created the plan I had managed to muddle the precedence constraints between the notify operator task & Maintenance Cleanup task... all sorted.
What's this I hear you say, less speed more haste...
