Maintenance Plan xp_delete_file

    Anyone encounter xp_delete_file not being able to delete compressed backups?

    Yes and also when ran as a query such as

    EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_delete_file

    0

    ,N'\\<Path>',N'bak'

    ,N'2011-10-14T11:27:56'

    Is it not deleting the bak files?

    I had a similar problem

    In the maintenance plan for folder, I put a \ after the path and I removed the . from the .bak.

    Then it worked.
