Maintenance plan not saving?

    I have a 2k box that for some reason, whenever I try to set up the maintenance plan to take backups, it never saves the schedule or configuration. Further more, it doesn't let me select a time schema (day, week, month) for deletion of older files. What gives?

    Are you accessing the Maintenance Plan wizard/tool via SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager or are you attempting to create a plan using SQL 2005 Management Studio remotely?

    I'm accessing it through EM on the sql 2k box. I've written some scripts as a work around in the meantime.
