Maintenance Plan deletion error

    I'm trying to delete an empty maintenance plan on one of our SQL 2005 Standard Edition (build 9.00.3042) servers and see the following error.

    "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation (mscorlib)"

    A quick search on the web has proved fruitless although it appears to be somewhat of a generic error used across other ms apps.

    Is there anyone out there who can offer any advice.

    I know how to remove this plan from the dbo.sysdbmaintplans table, I would like to know why the problem first occured.  Any thoughts?

    Hopefully someone out there will no the answer to this, but to date i've had no feedback...
