I was asked to help out creating maintenance plans on a server that I did not build. When I went to run a newly created maintenance package, I got the following error message:
The package "Maintenance Plans \ backup database 'failed due to error 0xC0014062 not be loaded. Description: Error in LoadFromSQLServer method (OLE DB error code 0x80004005 expired 'registration timeout)). The SQL statement issued could not be executed. Source: Started: 17:00:00 Finished: 17:00:18 Elapsed: 18,689 seconds. The package could not be loaded. The step failed.
Has anyone seen this message before? I am having a hard time troubleshooting, since I didn't build the sql server and it is all in German.
This is a Windows 2008 box with Sql Server 2008 (no service packs). As a sidenote, the sql clustering looks a little weird as the sql agent does not look to be clustered. Shouldn't it be? Could this be the problem?

I would suggest at least getting service pack 1 installed on the instance. It has a fix for maintenance plans, I think being dependent on SSIS.
