I am seeing Transaction Log as the last one that ran, which technically would be correct. It ran at 9 am. I took out the distinct top 1 and in looking at all the entries, I see a Full backup entry at 2:05 am this morning. I do though see another Full Backup entry 2 hours later (which I will need to investigate) but it shows a full happening today.
So now I am more confused.....

I am still sitting here scratching my head on this one. Something that I don't think is the issue, I can store my Full backups and Differentials in the same subdirectory, correct?
I have the same path and have selected the "create a sub-directory..." option so they should all end up in the same place. Do I need to make another directory that is for Differentials?

No, you don't need to create separate directories to store full & differential backups (although its good if you do so).
By the way, are you able to take a full backup of the database manually ??

Well, I did change the path to seperate them for the noon run that should be happening soon. I am still expecting failure. Once that happens, I will try a manual backup, shouldn't affect ussers too much. Will report back in a few, thanks to those that have been helping me! I do appreciate it.

I just finished the manual backup. I copied the T-SQL out of the full backup step and just changed the name to be DBName_ManualTest.bak for the name and the file name. It completed just fine.
Just keeps getting more and more confusing. This should work.
I did notice that the step for the differential did fire off, as it created the new directories, just didn't do the backup for the same reason...

I just followed up that test with taking the TSQL from the differential step and doing the same thing to the file and name fields and it created a differential backup....I will continue to monitor this and see if that syncs things up.
