mail notifications failing

    right click SQL server agent -> 'properties'

    select 'Alert system' then check 'Enable mail profile' under 'mail session' then restart the SQL server agent service.

    Did you do this part because if you did then you'd better give me the details of how you setup your database mail. There must be something wrong there.

    Thanks for the post.

    I've followed the instructions too but no joy.

    One thing I've noticed - when I select the Alert System Properties (Mail Session enabled by the way), I can select a Mail System and Mail Profile but the Test button is disabled ?

    Also, there are two mail profiles set up, but I can test both of them fine from SSMS.
