Mail Alerts in Express

    Hello guyz! Am doing automatic backups for a database in express edition and i want an alert to be sent to my email address whenever the database has not been updated at its set time. How do i do this in express edition?

    Although SQL 2K5 has robust built-in email support via Database mail, its not available in Express edition. You have to use CDOSYS to make it work for Express edition. SQL Server MVP Jonathan Kehayias wrote a script here explaining how to use this feature.
