What is a LUN for SQL Databases? :w00t:

Nothing.
A LUN is a SAN concept, not a database concept.

hmmmmm...... what is LUN? what is SAN? And no, I HAVE NOT GOOGLED yet. I know I should have to, but if the terms are used here, why not explain it? 😉

LUN = Logical Unit Number
SAN = Storage Area Network
Honestly the reason they are not explained here is because somebody has already done a better job than I can do off the top of my head.

To add to that.... If for no other reason than using a single source of information on the internet has been known to cause people some might grief. It's also a part of the implied job description for anyone that earns their living by working with computers. 😉
