Lookup Vs. Fussy Lookup - Masterdata & MDS

  • Hi , please advise?

Would you please advise what will be the best ETL recipe in SSIS for comparing Master Data with other data sources. Below is an example of my Master Data(let's say it is true and correct). I need to compare this data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TiWk5dPVpJhdUPzBuSBR4_Z15OBGzQW6/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=104129043494164133703&rtpof=true&sd=true with my Master Data. How do i go about it?

I would also like to correct spelling in my data set. e.g "Stakeholder" is sometimes spelled wrong. Is MDS the way to go to correct this problem(to have one true correct spelling)?

    Thanks,

  • Do you have an example where the master data doesn't equal the imported data?  If so, please don't post it as a graphic... post it as readily consumable data.  One way to do that can be found in the article at the first link in my signature below.

Of course, you've also been asked to do this before. 😉

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Are you really posting actual data in a public forum?  This is grounds for termination at my company
