I have two resolutions....
1. Stop swearing so much at people who want to do stupid things to databases because... most of them are managers that have some say so over whether I have a career, or not. 😉
2. Try to keep the "WTF's" under 60db when I'm reviewing code.
😛

Jeff, hopefully you can stick with those. Maybe point a few developers our way and they'll learn a few things to make life easier for you. And lessen the need for taking frequent breaks outside in the cold to deal with those lessor mortals 😀

Heh... Actually, I haven't had a cigarette in over a week. Still want one real bad, but trying not to give in. Also trying not to bury folks in a mountain of pork chops just because I'm trying to quit smoking. 😛

Congrats!Hey, pick up running as a new vice, that's what I did 🙂
Just bought a nice new Calypso Cruiser (bicycle)... 7 speeds... nice super heavy duty (emphasis on heavy) steel frame... balloon tires for a tender ride... easy on the knees. I'm also getting my old unicycle fixed up (yep, can still ride it)... now that takes some leg power... no coasting. Curl a couple of 5 - 10 pound weights while riding that...

Goals for 2009:
1. Get the project I'm working on finished. I had hopes it would be completed by now, and it seems a bit stalled.
2. Since it's 2009, start learning some SQL Server 2008, even though I don't plan on using it. Particularly policy-based management. I need to beef up my understanding and implementation of security.
3. 1 article per quarter for SSC
4. 1 video per quarter for JumpstartTV
5. 1 blog post per week. Hopefully with some meat.

Anyone that thinks they have it bad in the U.S. and wants to pitch a fit about it, needs to seek out people like Domagoj and find out what real problems are... they'll never bitch again.
Domagoj... I wish you some well deserved happiness and all the luck in the world.

Why don't you come down my way. Apart from some idiot politicians (and who doesn't have those), we're doing pretty well. Didn't even have too much of an economic 'collapse'. We have good weather too.
Back on the topic of the thread...
I'll be blogging on this on the 1st Jan, so I'll hold off any comments until then.
