Looking for an application to connect to SQL

  • Hi all,

I'm looking for an app that I can use to practice at home. I don't mind paying for it.

    Thanks,

    Jaybee

  • you can get the developers version for 40 bucks i think

and it gives you everthing enterprise has

  • :ermm:

  • then i guess i dont know what you are looking for

but sql2005 developers edition from ms is like 40 bucks

has ssrs, ssms, ssis, ssas, ssds everthing to practice at home

  • Mate, I've had SS2K5 installed for a few months now!! Fully loaded!!

  • So, what exactly are you looking for. SSMS is an application that connects to SQL Server. BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) is also an application that connects to SQL Server.

If you have Excel - you can use that to connect to SQL Server. Access also connects to SQL Server through linked tables.

This link will take you to a couple of end-to-end sample applications for SQL Server. I have not used these before - so I have no idea how to install, setup, configure or run these samples.

Perfect!! That's absolutely what I need. Tell the barman what you want to drink, and tell him to put it on the 'Jaybee' tab... 🙂

  • Glad I could help - actually did not know about those samples until I went searching.
