I have a setup like Server A (DB mirroring Principle) server B (DB mirroring mirror role) configured in synchronous mode with automatic failover (for HA) and also Server C which is configured as logshippping secondary (for Disaster Recovery) with Server A and Server B as logshippping primary servers. In case of failover, can any backup tool/agent can detect which server (A or B) is current primary instance and take the backup (Full, Diff and Togs) and recover if needed?
Currently we are now able to setup and configure native sql agent backups, but for ease we are looking for any tool so the backup history logging and overhead of tracking is reduced.
Note: All the three servers are in AWS Cloud.
Example of setup is https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187016.aspx

Take a look at Ola Hallengren's maintenance suite. I don't think it can do all you are looking for, but a) you should be using it anyway and b) you can modify the code to do what you want.
