Hi,
I have a log-shipping setup conigured for production DB, This is happening every 15 minutes backup/copy/restore.
I would like to add one more secondary server to this, while configuring
I have taken a fresh backup and restored it in the new secondary server and made DB as standby, then I configured logshipiing to this new server; now it supposed to restore only the new tranlogs after the last full backup but it copied all the tranlog files to the new target server and failed to restore with reason as LSN mismatch.
Any one help me to setup this additional server with out disturbing the existing one. my DB size is 15 GB.
If reqd i can provide more details, but please guide me.
regards
Nanda

From my point of view it will be better if you re setup the logshipping once again including the additional server.

Hi Thanks for the reply,
infact, what I noticed is the data is getting restored but the logshipping restore alert job is only failing and in the logshipping monitor it shows out of sync, interestingly the tran log is getting copied/restored to the stand by server!
Yes, I can reconfigure the setup with the new server again, but I thought of getting some inputs whether any one ever come across these type of issues.

When you look at your configuration you must edit the authentication of the monitor server. I think you have taken the SA account for this job? Change this to the user which you use for the agent service. It works fine after this change 🙂
