Is any body are familer / setup the logshipping restoring transaction logs from the tapes. I have done with the disk, but i have a situation here.
One of my database is backing up to dlt tapes through legato and my management want me setup the logshipping for DR solution, I am familer with restoring the database from tapes, but to automate to logshipping i am little bit confused. Can anyone help in this regards.

While it may be possible to implement tape in a log shipping application (I don't know), it seems to me that it is not desirable.
If your log transfers are frequent, I think the following are true:
a. Tape writes are slower than disk writes, so if transfers are frequent enough, then tape can't keep up, may need to be manually loaded/unload if automated solutions are not affordable.
b. Tapes do snap, need to be cleaned, rotated, etc.
I would say backup to disk, copy the file(s) to standby server (process, etc.), then archive production backup disk file(s) to tape.
