Dear All,
Could someone help me out on this?
We have logshipping 2000 in our environment.
Primary server needs to be restarted.
What are all the steps needs to be taken before/after re-starting the Primary server?
Your quick reply is much appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Ravi.

stop the job which are doing log backup and copy to secondary server. Even if you do not stop this job, it will have no impact.
But your downtime is long duration then its advisable to stop these jobs and start once you system is up and functioning as before.
Also if you set any alerts on secondary to check since when your database is out of sync or log restoration frequency then also disable it as it will raise unnecessary alerts.

Why?
The jobs are on the primary server, so if the server is down they won't be running.

So why even bother mentioning it or recommending it if it'll have no impact?
