Logs running out of free space

  • Hi,

Today I’ve noticed that drive with Logs for several databases is running out of free space. I’ve made some investigation and found that logs of 8 databases are being backuped on this drive. That backups take much of space and databases have no space to write their logs.

I have always issue with running out of FREE SPACE, which or what is best solution to avoid future error message.

    Thnx

  • check the autogrowth setting for the log file in the db , make sure the db backups are compressed , enable database compression to reduce the size of the database.

check the autogrowth setting for the log file in the db , make sure the db backups are compressed , enable database compression to reduce the size of the database.

All setting are ok, as you wrote.

Backup folder is taking more that 85% of drive for only 4 database logs. Log Shipping on that db.

    thnx

  • i got this error mesg. 18210 and 14421 events in application log.
