Login failed for domain\usernamesql server owner

  This error is constant in sql server 2000 sp4 log files

  Login failed for user "Domain\sqlacct"

  Sql server runs just fine but the log file is filled with above message.

  Tested the password by starting the DB with the local admin account

  and later switching back to the domain account with no issues.

  Any pointers to the possible cause of this error are apprciated.

  Have you tried logging onto windows interactively using the domain ID generating error messages in log?
