Hello,
I'm new to log shipping and for some reason, I'm receiving the following error message for one out of the nine databases that are set up for log shipping:
[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)] Error 4306: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The preceding restore operation did not specify WITH NORECOVERY or WITH STANDBY. Restart the restore sequence, specifying WITH NORECOVERY or WITH STANDBY for all but the final step.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]RESTORE LOG is terminating abnormally.
Now I wasn't the person who initially setup log shipping. From what I found so far, you can perform a full database backup of the primary database, then restore the secondary database with the primary, then turn on log shipping. Where do you turn log shipping on or off? Is it a matter of enabling or disabling a job?
Thank you for your answers, it is much appreciated.
Pete

Hi Florenzano,
You can disable the logshipping job by disabling the job entry in the primary server.
Hope this answers ur query.
