Anyone know why my log shipping alerts are not emailing us when log shipping fails? The items below detail my issue:
We took down our log shipping server for 24 hours to test and it never emailed us.
I used the wizards to setup log shipping with a monitor server.
The wizard created an alert job and an two alerts on the monitor server.
I setup database mail, and tested it, and told the sql server agent which database mail profile to use.
I noticed the alerts history properties do show "number of occurrences" increasing.
One notable thing is that in the job to detect failures there's an alert section and it's empty.
I tried adding another alert for the log shipping failure code and it says one already exists.
Does the alert have to be in this job for it to work?
Any suggestions why this isn't emailing us would be great!

Can you script the alert job and post the SQL?
