I have been attempting to get log shipping up and running for several weeks now for DRP requirements. I have gone through all the technet How To docs and followed to the T. After finding a recent FAQ article it states that you must disable existing log backup jobs. I setup a new maintenance plan for log shipping disabling my log backup jobs first. It worked. I let it run for a week and then enabled my normal backup jobs. Log shipping immediately bombed. I have a log backup w/ init at 7am and then normal log backups on the hour throughout the day. The log shipping backups are going to a dedicated folder different than normal log backups so why would there be a conflict or confusion?
Question- Is there a work around for this to incorporate log backup jobs?

Cortec,
"Log Shipping" log backups are the same as normal log backups, therefore if you re-enable your normal log backups you are depriving log shipping of backed up data that it needs to keep your DRP database synchronised.
Turn off the normal log backups. Treat the folder storing your log shipping backups as the one and only repository for such files.
