Dear all,
We are considering to use log shipping recently but we have a question that what will the full backup do to the transaction log when log shipping is turned on.
From what I know, the full backup will also back up a portion of the tansaction log in a normal case. But will it keep the log for next transation log dump during full backup while we turn on the log shipping? Are there anyone know the mechanism of full backup when log shipping is turned on? Thank you very much

Log Shipping happily exists alongside full backups.
Although the full backup also backs up part of the transaction log, the integrity of the transaction log backups is maintained.
Therefore, if you do a full backup in the middle of a series of transaction log backups, nothing is lost from the transaction logs.

Thank you very much.
How about when the database is running in simple recovery model? Will the transaction log being trunacted after Full database backup?

Databaes has to be in full recovery mode for logshipping to function.
