1. No. Only in case when you will change servers roles ex.: after change your old primary would be new secondary and vice versa
2.Only updates
3. It should be if you see it in left upper coner of SQL Server Agent
4-5. Not sure what you mean by "a record". If a record in a table then I'm not sure you could do it. The second server would be in read-only state so you wouldn't be allowed to change data
6. Yes it possible, but then your log shipping proccess will finish. You can simple go to primary server DB Maintenance plan and remove log shipping. Or if you made role reversal possibility there are couple microsoft scripts which allow you to do that. After that your servers change roles: the primary become new secondary and the secondary become new primary
7.Microsoft recommends you to have third server for monitoring purpsoes. But it's not necessary
8. No you cann't. It's all or nothing
