Local Group membership?

  Good afternoon-

  I'm seeing SYSTEM and NETWORK SERVICE as members of the local groups "SQLServer2005DTSUsers$ ", and in several other local groups (ReportingServicesWebServiceUsers, OLAP users, etc)...

  1. Are these local groups created by SQL Server on installation?

  2. Do NETWORK SERVICE and SYSTEM need to be members of these groups?

  1) Those groups are created by SQL server 2005 installation;

  2) MS suggests to add the user accounts under which SQL Server serviecs run to the corresponding group. and Only assign required privileges for the service accounts to those groups.
