Linked Servers

    Hi Guys

    Im a relative n00b to SQL and have a question about linked servers. I want to use a linked server to connect to an Ingres DB from SQL2000sp3.

    Is there a way of making sure the linked server provides read only access to the ingres data?

    Create a login with read only permission on ingres DB, then create link server using this login.
